Amado Baez, MD, MPH, FACEP
Amado Alejandro Báez MD, MSc, MPH, FACEP, is the Medical Director at Florida Hospital Tampa in Tampa, FL. He has been with US Acute Care Solutions since 2018.
Dr. Báez was born and raised in Dominican Republic and received his MD from the UNPHU in Santo Domingo, D.R. graduating Cum Laude. He obtained his Master of Science in Healthcare Management and a Masters in Public Health from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. He then earned his Master’s Certificate in Healthcare Leadership from Cornell University. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at the Mayo Clinic - Mayo Graduate School in Rochester, MN, and a Trauma/ Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital/ Harvard Medical School (HMS) in Boston, MA.
As an academician, Dr. Báez has published and presented more than 100 research studies with a dedicated interest in Prehospital Critical Care, Disaster Medicine and Clinical Informatics/ Decision Science. He has had many academic and hospital appointments, including faculty at the Harvard Medical School, Chief of Emergency Medicine and Critical Care at Hospital General Plaza de la Salud, Chief of Emergency Medicine at Kings County Hospital, and the Associate Chief and Founding Emergency Medicine Residency Director at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr Baez an HMS Shore Fellow and his work has been recognized by ACEP (2008 EM Hero), EMRA, the American Medical Association, Society for Critical Care Medicine and Junior Chamber International.
Dr. Báez is fluent in Spanish and English and he speaks French as well. In his free time, he enjoys travel and food, soccer and Ju-Jutsu, where he holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt.
