Brent Treichler, MD, FACEP
Dr. Brent Treichler serves as the emergency department medical director at Providence Health Center in Waco, TX. An accomplished, energetic, and passionate clinician who leads by example, his career has also afforded him extensive operational, business development, and regulatory experience. He is known by his peers to be an empowering, fair-minded, and collaborative leader with a track record of success in highly complex environments.
Before joining the team at Providence, Dr. Treichler served as the ED medical director at Metroplex Adventist Hospital in Killeen, TX, where he helped establish the hospital as the only Primary Stroke Center in the area and helped dramatically improve Press Ganey scores. He previously served as Chief Medical Officer of Corning Hospital in New York.
Prior to that, Dr. Treichler spent eight years as the ED medical director and later Chief of Emergency Services at Parkland Health and Hospital Systems in Dallas, overseeing an operation comprising 135,000 ED visits and 60,000 ED urgent care visits annually. He concurrently held an academic appointment as an assistant professor at the adjacent University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
A Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Dr. Treichler earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Davis and his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed his emergency medicine internship and residency at UT Southwestern and later completed his Healthcare Management Executive MBA from UT Dallas/UT Southwestern.
