Hospital Information

  • 166-bed community hospital situated in the city of Cortland
  • 80-bed skilled nursing facility also on campus
  • Full service capabilities with most specialties represented on site, including inpatient psychiatry
  • Interventional cardiology, major trauma, neurosurgery, and critical pediatrics are transferred
  • Hospitalist service is in-house 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

  • Radiology department includes interventional radiology and teleradiology
  • $3.6 million Emergency Department completed in November 2004

Cortland is a beautiful town with an approximate population of 20,000 people and is situated in the desirable Finger Lakes region of south central New York about 25 miles south of Syracuse.  Working in Cortland affords access to a variety of residential options including established older communities in town, suburban subdivisions, the college-town environment of nearby Ithaca, and the southern suburbs of Syracuse.  The region hosts a number of highly regarded school systems, as well as a number of colleges and universities, including Cornell, Ithaca, Syracuse & Cortland State Universities. 

Cortland has some of the most beautiful recreational opportunities available anywhere, including the many lakes for which the region is famous, three local ski resorts, many wineries within driving distance, two golf courses within 10 minutes of the hospital, arguably the best mountain biking trails in the northeast as well as great hiking and camping opportunities. Those interested in the arts and cultural activities will find many festivals, (including the Fall Apple Festivals) & museums in Cortland County as well as Syracuse and Ithaca, which are within a thirty minute drive.
