Dr. Edward McCutcheon is the ED Medical Director at Carolinas HealthCare System University in Charlotte, NC. Dr. McCutcheon is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a Fellow in the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is currently the Vice President of the Medical and Dental Staff for Carolinas Medical HealthCare System University.

Dr. McCutcheon graduated summa cum laude from the West Virginia University School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He received his medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, WV. He completed his emergency medicine residency at MCP Hahnemann University School of Medicine/Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He completed the Queens University McColl Executive Leadership Institute - Physician Leadership Program and his Master's in Healthcare Administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. McCutcheon completed the Scholars Program, Patient Satisfaction Academy and the Efficiency Academy. 

Dr. McCutcheon's personal interests include travel, personal fitness, and most importantly spending time with his family.
