Jason Harris, MD, FACEP, FAAEM
Dr. Jason Harris is the emergency department medical director at CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, TX.
Dr. Harris is a familiar face at CHRISTUS St. Michael, having worked as an emergency physician there since 2009. From 2013 to 2017, he served as the Advanced Practice Provider Coordinator for nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the ED. He is an integral part of the hospital’s leadership, serving as chief of staff from January 2015 through December 2016 and as a member of the Medical Executive Committee since 2013.
Dr. Harris is a board-certified emergency physician, a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. He is currently completing the Certified Physician Executive program of the American Association for Physician Leadership. Dr. Harris earned his bachelor’s degree from Henderson State University in Arkansas and his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in emergency medicine at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.
An Eagle Scout, Dr. Harris was an emergency physician at Willis Knighton Medical Center in Bossier City, LA, before practicing in Texarkana. He has served as a flight paramedic in Louisiana and Texas, and as an EMS medical director in Bossier Parish, LA. He also serves as the medical director for the Red River Army Depot EMS, near Texarkana.
