Michael Crownover, MD
Dr. Mike Crownover is the emergency department medical director at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, TX. He assumed this leadership role serving as an emergency physician in the area since 2006. During that time he worked at a number of Texas EDs, including those of San Antonio’s Baptist Health System, Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville, and Providence Health Center in Waco, just to name a few.
Dr. Crownover earned his bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in San Marcos, TX, and his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed his residency training at State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate in Syracuse, NY.
From 2003 to 2013, Dr. Crownover served as an emergency medicine physician in the U.S. Army Medical Reserves. He has completed deployments in Kosovo, Columbia, Guatemala, Belize, and at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. A married father of two, he enjoys amateur radio, fishing, skiing, camping, snorkeling, and other outdoor sports in addition to his community involvement as a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America.
