US Acute Care Solutions is pleased to announce that Dr. Matt Patlovany has been named Vice President of USACS Southwest. As a regional vice president serving the southern portion of the region, Patlovany will provide medical and administrative leadership necessary to support the efforts of individual site medical directors. In collaboration with the leadership and staff of USACS Southwest, he will oversee the quality and effectiveness of each medical director while providing the resources and direction needed to improve overall departmental performance at each location.

Patlovany served as Chief Medical Officer of Emergency Physicians Affiliates in San Antonio before joining USACS in July 2015. Since then, he has served as a regional vice president, overseeing USACS' emergency departments in San Antonio and Harlingen. He has worked in the Baptist Health System since 2007, serving on more than a dozen clinical committees and task forces to improve quality and service.

Patlovany is one of three regional vice presidents who will report to Cheryl Conner, formerly chief executive officer of ESP and now president of USACS Southwest.

“I am looking forward to working together to continue to deliver the very best care to our patients and service to our hospital partners,” Conner said.

A board-certified emergency physician, Patlovany is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and is certified as a National Board of Medical Examiners Diplomate. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed his residency training in emergency medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where he served as chief resident.
