Rhett Reed, MD
Dr. Rhett Reed is the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Seton Medical Center Hays in Kyle, Texas. Dr. Reed served as Chief of Staff for the hospital from its opening in September 2009 through December 2011.
Prior to assuming the medical director role at Seton Hays, Dr. Reed was an attending emergency physician at University Medical Center Brackenridge and Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas (previously Children’s Hospital of Austin) for 17 years. He serves on multiple hospital committees for Seton Hays and for the Seton Healthcare Family.
Dr. Reed served as a member of the Board of Managers of Emergency Service Partners, a founding partner of US Acute Care Solutions, from 2008 through 2016, where he served on the Compensation Committee, among other responsibilities.
Dr. Reed received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Raised in Alvin, Texas, he received a B.S. in biology from Texas A&M University.
When not in the emergency department, Dr. Reed enjoys fishing on North Padre Island and hunting/ranching in Flatonia, Texas.
