Dr. Blankenship is a board certified emergency physician and a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He earned his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, OH, and completed his emergency medicine residency at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, TX. He previously served as Chairman, Department of Medicine and Medical Director at St. Vincent Medical Center Northeast in Fishers, IN. He is also President of EMsono, LLC.

Dr. Blankenship developed the Army’s First Tactical Ultrasound Course in 2007 after returning from Iraq where he was awarded the Bronze Star for his service with the 1-66 Armor, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, TX.

Outside of the ED, Dr. Blankenship’s interests include spending time with his family, watching his kid’s sporting events, teaching ultrasound to non-traditional users, and going on international mission trips.
