Dr. Wayne Jones is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency at Memorial Hospital in York, PA. He joined the staff at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, PA, in 1992. He currently serves as the Medical Director for Emergency Services and as the Director for the Hospital's One call Transfer Center.

Dr. Jones began his medical career as a paramedic. After residency, he served as the Medical Director for Emergycare, In., a multi-jurisdictional air and ground prehospital provider in northwestern Pennsylvania. In 1995, he facilitated the organization of the Erie Bureau of Police SWAT Medical Support Team. In 1996, he completed the CAQ in EMS. Later that same year, Dr. Jones was granted fellowship status by the ACOEP

In 2002, Dr. Jones became the Assistant Medical Director for Emergency Operations at Saint Vincent Health Center. Through the assistance of many fellow ACOEP members, he was able to implement a residency in Osteopathic Emergency Medicine.

By invitation from the late Ben Field, DO, FACOEP, Dr. Jones became an examiner for the AOBEM in 2005. 

Dr. Jones has written several opinion articles for The Pulse, the trade publication of the ACOEP and previously authored the In My Opinion column.

Dr. Jones has served on many non-profit boards, including the AmericanRed Cross, Emergycare, FOEM and EMMCO West, a nonprofit EMS authority for western Pennsylvania.
