What is the outbreak?

2019-nCoV is a virus in the Coronavirus family. In humans, it causes flu-like symptoms: headache, weakness, muscle aches, sore throat, cough and shortness of breath. The shortness of breath can be severe and even cause pneumonia (an infection of the lungs) and death.  There have been no deaths in the USA.

How does it spread?

It spreads by droplets, meaning someone who had a cough or is sneezing can blow small particles into the air which other people breathe in. Keep a mask with you, and if you are in a public place where people are coughing, wear it.
