Dr. Barbara R. Paul has served as senior vice president and chief medical officer of Community Health Systems and as a board member of Quorum Health. She served at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services during the Clinton and Bush administrations, helping to develop and launch a number of quality-of-care initiatives. Dr. Paul chaired the Board of Natus Medical Incorporated, a medical device manufacturer focused on the diagnosis and treatment of central nervous and sensory system disorders. She is a board-certified internist with a career grounded by twelve years as a full-time primary care physician.
She has seven times been honored as one of the “50 Most Influential Physician Executives in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare.
Dr. Paul earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin - Madison and a medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine.
