Julie A. Pokersnik, MD, MBA, FACEP is the USACS system medical director North division and the system medical director for UH Lake and Tripoint sites where she serves on multiple clinical committees. She completed the USACS scholars program in 2020 and was elected to the National Clinical Governance Board in 2022.

During nearly a decade of her non-traditional path to medicine working as a journeyman tool & die maker for General Motors, she completed her undergraduate degree and became a board-certified Cardiovascular Perfusionist at Cleveland Clinic Heart & Vascular Institute, where she also served as a clinical instructor, participated in clinical research, heart & lung transplantation, and authored multiple peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Pokersnik earned her medical degree at Northeast Ohio Medical University and completed her emergency medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center. She also holds a bachelor's degree from Cleveland State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.

She is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
