Brian Aldred, MD, FACEP
Dr. Brian Aldred is the medical director at Five Star ER Pflugerville and Round Rock, TX. He brings two decades of emergency medicine experience to this new model of care. He serves as the lead medical director for all four Five Star ER locations in the Austin area.
From 2008 to 2014, Dr. Aldred served as the emergency department medical director at Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock, TX. At SMCW, Dr. Aldred led an emergency department team providing high quality, high acuity, highly efficient care while maintaining excellent patient and family satisfaction. He also served as chief of staff and was chosen as the Physician Clinical Informatics Liaison for SMCW. He led the site’s Medical Executive Committee and has been an active member of the SMCW Foundation Board. In addition, he was a voting member of the Seton Healthcare Family Board Clinical Quality Committee and became one of the lead trainers for High Reliability Organization training at SMCW.
As a board member and Executive Vice President for Emergency Service Partners, L.P., a founding member of US Acute Care Solutions, Dr. Aldred began overseeing ESP’s business development efforts in 2012. He is currently a member of the USACS Southwest Clinical Governance Board.
Before moving to Texas, Dr. Aldred worked for more than 11 years in a community, tertiary referral center and Level I trauma center in Rockford, IL. During this time he held various leadership roles including Air Medical Transport Team Director, Vice Chief of the Emergency Department, and Transfer Center Medical Director. His varied experience includes various practice models in rural/critical access hospitals, a large urban tertiary care facility, and a freestanding emergency center.
Dr. Aldred grew up in the Chicago area and graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in biology. He attended medical school and completed his residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and was elected an at-large member of ACEP’s Freestanding Emergency Center Section in 2014.
