Christopher Lloyd, DO
Chairman of the Emergency Department, Staff Physician
Dr. Christopher Lloyd started as the Chairman of the Emergency Department at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, OH. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Ohio University-Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Director of Clinical Education for the Doctors Emergency Medicine Residency. He is a member of the 2013 Scholars Class.
Dr. Lloyd received his undergraduate training at Ohio University in Athens, OH where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He earned his medical degree from the Ohio University-Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2009, where he served as Chief Resident. He continued to work with the UIC EM Residency as clinical faculty with EMP of Chicago at Mercy Hospital. During his three years in Chicago he held positions as Medical Student Clerkship Director as well as Assistant Residency Director. He also worked with the ACS/CHF and Utilization Review Committees.
Dr. Lloyd comes to USACS with a long history of interest in Emergency Medicine, as his father is an Emergency Physician in Akron, Ohio. He says he got a lot of his knowledge from his father and his commitment to patient satisfaction from his years working at Breugger's Bagels and selling lemonade at Jacob's Field in Cleveland for Indians games.
Dr. Lloyd is married and his wife, Julia, works as a Pediatric Emergency Physician at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus. They have two incredibly energetic boys, Lucas and Andrew. Chris admits to cooking as a true passion, and would like nothing more than to spend a few days in the French Laundry kitchen. His wife would just be happy to explore Napa. He also enjoys running, soccer and the incredible frustration that comes with being a Cleveland Sports Fan.
