Christopher Lloyd DO

Dr. Christopher Lloyd is currently the Associate Program Director of the OhioHealth Doctors Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency in Columbus, OH. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Ohio University-Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is a member of the 2013 Scholars Class.

Dr. Lloyd received his undergraduate training at Ohio University in Athens, OH where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering. He earned his medical degree from the Ohio University-Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2009, where he served as Chief Resident. He continued to work with the UIC EM Residency as core faculty with EMP of Chicago at Mercy Hospital. During his three years in Chicago, he held positions as Medical Student Clerkship Director as well as Assistant Residency Director. He also worked with the ACS/CHF and Utilization Review Committees.

Dr. Lloyd moved to Columbus in 2012 and has worked at Doctors Hospital as a core faculty member ever since. He chairs the recruitment committee, the clinical competency committee, and the medical education specialty track for the EM residents. 

Dr. Lloyd comes to USACS with a long history of interest in Emergency Medicine, as his father practiced Emergency Medicine in Akron, Ohio for close to 40 years. He says he got a lot of his knowledge from his father and his commitment to patient experience from his years working at Bruegger's Bagels and selling lemonade at Jacob's Field in Cleveland for Indians (now Guardians) games.

Dr. Lloyd is married and his wife, Julia, works as a Pediatric Emergency Physician at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus. They have two incredibly energetic boys, Lucas and Andrew, and one sweet, yet sassy, daughter, Molly. Dr. Lloyd admits to cooking as a true passion, and he also enjoys running, hiking/camping, golf, and the incredible frustration that comes with being a Cleveland sports fan
