T. Elijah Benioni, MD, FACEP
Director of Ultrasound & Education
Dr. Benioni is director of ultrasound and education. He is a core faculty member for our Midwestern University Emergency Medicine Residency Program in Chicago. As a former traveling firefighter, he has worked alongside partners across multiple hospital systems in the USACS East, North & West regions. He serves on the Diversity & Inclusion Council, Residency Task Force, Education Committee, Academic Affairs Committee and is a 2017 Scholars graduate. Dr. Benioni enjoys meeting residents from across the country as he travels as one of our recruitment dinner speakers.
He is dedicated to both medical student and resident education, and his teaching experiences include assistant professorships in the Department of Surgery at the University of Hawaii, Department of Clinical Sciences at Florida State University and Department of Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida, where he also served as the associate medical director of Sarasota County. He is a forensic medico-legal consultant and is a national reviewer for quality and appeals in relation to CMS, patients, hospitals and physicians.
He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Miami; and completed medical school, residency and chief residency at the University of Rochester.
