Gregory Press, MD, is an emergency physician at Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin. He also is a consultant, senior medical officer, and emergency ultrasound director at Hutt Valley DHB in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. From 2004-2013, he was an attending physician, assistant professor of emergency medicine, emergency ultrasound director, and emergency ultrasound fellowship director for Memorial Hermann Hospital, Lyndon Baines Johnson Hospital, and University of Texas at Houston. He is a four-time award winner of the University of Texas at Houston Medical School Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award. He is a board member of the Emergency Medicine Practice Guidelines Update Editorial Board and has authored numerous journal articles. He has participated in both grant-funded and additional research. He is a member American College of Emergency Physicians, Society of Academic Emergency Medicine, American Association of Emergency Medicine, American Medical Association, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, and is a fellow in the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Texas at Austin and medical degree from University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He completed his residency at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center at Columbia University, where he also completed an emergency medicine ultrasound fellowship. Since 2006, he has been involved with clinical research at University of Texas at Houston Medical School.
