Dr. Ogden, MD, FACEP is the Medical Director of Longmont United Hospital in Longmont, CO. He had been President of Longs Peak Emergency Physicians and Medical Director of the Emergency Department for 16 years prior to LPEP joining USACS in December 2016.

Dr. Ogden received a Bachelor of Arts in Eastern Philosophy from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY where he played Varsity basketball. After graduation, he was the Sales Manager of a radio station in Lewiston, ME, taught at a school for dyslexic boys in South Wales, NY, worked as an illustrator for a children’s animated film and was a bicycle messenger in NYC. During this time, he also became an instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), teaching mountaineering, sea kayaking and wilderness courses in Wyoming and Alaska and leading a successful 1981 Denali Expedition. He subsequently completed his pre-med coursework at Bryn Mawr College before attending Penn.

Dr. Ogden continues to enjoy the mountains and outdoor activities of Colorado. He is an expert alpine and backcountry skier and an avid mountain and road cyclist. He has been the Medical Advisor for NOLS for 25 years and is a Member of the NOLS Board of Trustees. His wife Sheila and two children, Luke and Lillie, enjoy the outdoors and family time.
