Jeffrey Chien, MD, FAAEM, FACEP
Dr. Jeffrey Chien is the medical director for the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine. He also is an assistant clinical professor (affiliated) for Stanford University Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine. He has won the Faculty of the Year at Stanford University Hospital in 2017, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center’s Bedside Teaching Award in 2018, as well as several other teaching and clinical awards. His past service to emergency medicine includes as past-president of the American Academy of Emergency Physician’s Young Physician’s Section and as acting-assistant program director to the Stanford/Kaiser Emergency Medicine Residency.
Dr. Chien earned his bachelor’s degree (magna cum laude) from Cornell University and his medical degree from State University of New York, Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in emergency medicine through the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, which included service as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in emergency medicine medical education through Stanford University Hospital.
