John Casey, DO, MA, FACEP, FACOEP
National Director for Scholars
John Casey DO, MA, FACEP, FACOEP is the Associate Program Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, OH. He is also active as an EMS Director, and has been an attending physician there since 2012. He previously completed USACS’ Scholars program, has been a mentor, and is currently the National Director of Scholars. He’s been with USACS for 6 years.
Dr. Casey currently holds several leadership positions. He is on US Acute Care Solutions National Clinical Governance Board, OhioHealth Board of Directors, OhioHealth Quality of Care Committee, OhioHealth Finance Committee, Doctors Hospital President of the Medical Staff, and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association Bureau of Federal Government Affairs and ACEP’s Federal Government Affairs Committee.
Dr. Casey received his Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech, and his Masters from Radford University, in Radford, VA. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathy at Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Blacksburg, VA. He then went on to Doctors Hospital, in Columbus, OH, where he did his Post-Graduate Internship, and Emergency Medicine Residency.
Dr. Casey has several professional affiliations including; American College of Emergency Physicians, American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians, and the American Osteopathic Association. Some of his most recent awards have been; USACS Maimonides Award for Teaching Excellence, Emergency Medicine Physicians Clinician of the Year, and recognition as a Champion of Change for healthcare by President Barack Obama.
