Dr. John Janikas is the Director of Emergency Medicine at Albany Memorial Hospital in Albany, NY. He is also the Director of Emergency Medicine at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. 

Dr. Janikas received his undergraduate training at Elmira College in Elmira, NY, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and graduated magna cum laude. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA, and completed his emergency medicine residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, where he was Chief Resident. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Dr. Janikas is a faculty member and co-creator of the USACS Efficiency Academy and was named ED Director of the Year in 2010. He serves as Medical Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Clifton Park Halfmoon EMS. Outside of the hospital Dr. Janikas enjoys training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and spending time with his sons Caleb and Noah.
