Amit Kalaria, MD, is the Regional Vice President of the USACS East Division. Dr. Kalaria has served in several leadership positions in the 17 years he’s been with USACS, most recently serving as the Medical Director of Integrated Acute Care Services for the Northeast Division. Throughout his career with USACS, Dr. Kalaria has led multiple initiatives to improve the quality of care throughout various service lines to significantly improve outcomes. He has also played a key role in integrating several new service lines within partner hospitals.

Participating as an active member of several committees, Dr. Kalaria served as a President’s Council Board Member for Adventist HealthCare, and the physician lead of both the Quality and Patient Safety Committee and the Utilization Management Committee for Western Maryland Health Systems. He is deeply committed to ensuring quality patient care and safety as reflected during his time on the USACS Regional Clinical Governance Board where he helped to implement national efforts on quality, risk, and patient safety at the regional level.

Dr. Kalaria earned his bachelor’s degree in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Michigan and received his medical degree from Michigan State University. He completed his emergency medicine residency at Northwestern University where he served as chief resident.
