Khalid Hajjir, MD, serves as the USACS System Medical Director at UPMC Western Maryland. In this role, Dr. Hajjir oversees emergency medicine, hospital medicine, urgent care, and skilled nursing facilities. He joined USACS in April 2020 as a hospitalist and assistant medical director for hospital medicine, before stepping into his current leadership role in January 2023.
Dr. Hajjir is a graduate of the USACS Scholars and Directors EDGE leadership development programs, which significantly influenced his growth as a collaborative and impact-driven leader. He is deeply committed to enhancing the quality of patient care and works with the NCGB to advance that mission across all care settings.
Dr. Hajjir earned his medical degree from the University of Jordan and completed his internal medicine residency at Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, where he served as associate chief resident. Outside of work, he is a proud husband and father of two daughters, with his third child on the way. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, playing pool, and spending quality time with friends.
