Robert Sobehart, MD, FACEP, is the Assistant Residency Director at Allegheny Health Network—Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He is a board-certified emergency physician and practices clinically at Allegheny Health Network—Allegheny General Hospital. Dr. Sobehart has served in numerous leadership roles throughout his career, most recently serving as the Medical Director at Allegheny Health Network—Brentwood Neighborhood Hospital and as the Associate Medical Operations Officer for the Allegheny Health Network system.
Dr. Sobehart served in the U.S. Navy and was deployed twice in support of Marine combat operations in Iraq during his years of service. During his deployments abroad, he was responsible for the emergency medical care of both troops and civilians on the frontlines. After leaving active duty, Dr. Sobehart returned home to Pittsburgh where he joined the faculty as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy Hospital. He also used his skills in support of the National Football League and National Hockey League teams native to Pittsburgh as the Visiting Team Medical Liaison and Emergency Medicine Consultant, respectively.
Dr. Sobehart earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton and his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He went on to complete his emergency medicine residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego.
