Stephen Hewitt, MD

Stephen Hewitt, MD, was a Hospitalist Physician with USACS, caring for patients at our Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center program in Carson City, NV. Dr. Hewitt was known for his kindness and deep desire to help others. He never ceased to provide compassionate care to his patients and their families during their most difficult times, doing so with a quiet humility that earned the respect of his colleagues. His approach to life was defined by humility, generosity, and quiet strength.  

Outside of work, Dr. Hewitt was always finding a new hobby to explore. One of his greatest passions was cooking, and it brought him immense joy to prepare meals that gathered his loved ones around the table to enjoy together. He also loved animals and cared for dogs, cats, chickens, quail, and horses he cared for on his property. Above all, he appreciated the simple things in life and loved spending time outdoors with his family and the animals that surrounded him. 

Dr. Hewitt earned his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific and completed his residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He spent his career as a Family Medicine Physician and Hospitalist Physician, caring for patients throughout the South Lake Tahoe and Northern Nevada region.

A devoted husband, father, son, Physician, and friend, Dr. Hewitt will be incredibly missed by all who knew him. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
