Harsh Dua, MD, FACP

Harsh Dua, MD, FACP, is a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician, Physician Lead, Residency Relations—Inpatient Medicine, Residency Relations, and the Medical Director at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC. Dr. Dua is passionate about quality improvement, workflow optimization, and clinical recruitment, having successfully recruited a strong clinical team into a rural hospital medicine program. He maintains a full-time Hospitalist position and is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians (ACP), bringing frontline insight to his leadership and practice-wide initiatives. 

Dr. Dua is experienced in managing Physicians and APPs and leading a team in key metrics, including but not limited to length of stay and patient experience. He has been engaged in several hospital- and system-level committees, ranging from the Medical Executive Committee to the Sentara Transfer Center Committee. As a passionate educator, he has served as a preceptor for PA students at Eastern Virginia Medical School and has led conference presentations for Residents at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital. 

Dr. Dua earned his medical degree from Trinity School of Medicine, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and completed his internal medicine residency at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital. Beyond work, Dr. Dua’s personal interests include running, weightlifting, fantasy football, and home improvement.

Dr. Dua shares, “It is more important than ever to advocate for a Physician-centric approach—one that prioritizes personal well-being, professional fulfillment, and long-term success. I strongly believe that USACS is uniquely positioned to deliver on that promise, and I aim to help guide the next generation of Physicians toward careers that are both meaningful and sustainable. I see it as an integral responsibility to provide clarity, transparency, and guidance, while serving as a trusted liaison between trainees, residency programs, and our practice. 

Within my role, I also seek to contribute to residency education by offering resources and didactic sessions on topics that are highly relevant yet often underrepresented in traditional curricula. By building lasting relationships with residency programs across the country, we can foster valuable engagement that is truly aligned with the needs and priorities of Clinicians.”
