Sanjay Kripalani, MD, MBA, is the Physician Lead, Residency Relations—East Division and an Emergency Physician at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. Dr. Kripalani has served as President of the Medical Staff at his hospital, working closely with the hospital executive team and Physician leaders on clinical quality, staffing, and strategic initiatives. He has also served as the Director of Clinical Education for the emergency department and continues to be involved in medical education as part-time clinical emergency medicine faculty at the University of Virginia. 

Dr. Kripalani received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, where he studied economics, graduating summa cum laude. He earned his MD and MBA at Wake Forest University and completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Virginia. 

Outside of work, Dr. Kripalani and his wife, Jess, have fun chasing around their young daughter, Sona, and he enjoys traveling, live music, stand-up comedy, and trying his hand at golf.
