Robert Sobehart, MD
Dr. Robert Sobehart is the medical director for the Allegheny Health Network Emergency Medicine Management’s Brentwood Neighborhood Hospital. Most recently, he was assistant professor of Emergency Medicine at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and also worked as an emergency medicine consultant for the Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey Team and a visiting team medical liaison for the National Football League.
Previously, was assistant professor of Military and Emergency Medicine for the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences – F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Maryland and was a staff physician for the Naval Medical Center and Pacific Emergency Providers in San Diego. As a Navy physician, he was deployed numerous times to Iraq, including during the Battle of Fallujah, where he provided frontline medical care to more than 400 major trauma patients. Awards include the Clinical Educator of the Year Award and the SAEM Excellence in Emergency Medicine Award from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and a Navy Commendation Medal with Combat “V” earned for service in Fallujah.
Dr. Sobehart earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Dayton (summa cum laude) and a medical degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (cum laude). He completed an internship and emergency medicine residency at the Naval Medical Center of San Diego where he was academic chief resident.
