Taryn Taylor, MD, MEd, is a Pediatric Emergency Physician at Inova L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital and a faculty member at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She assumed both roles in July 2025, upon transitioning to USACS.

Dr. Taylor previously joined Emory University faculty in 2008 as an Associate Professor and practiced as an Attending Physician in pediatric emergency departments within the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta network. She served as Chair of the Education Committee for the Emory Department of Pediatrics, as well as co-founder and director of the Medical Education Track and the Woodruff Health Educators Academy Teaching Fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. She has also served as faculty for the AAMC LEAD & EWIMS programs, Chair of the Emergency Medicine Section of the NMA, Chair of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Section of ACEP, and ACEP PEER editor.

Dr. Taylor earned her medical degree from Temple University - Lewis Katz School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her passion led her to pursue her master’s in education at the University of Cincinnati, where she studied key aspects of adult learning, curriculum development, and educational research. She has won both institutional and regional awards for her dedication and innovation as a medical educator.
