CANTON, Ohio, September 22, 2026 — US Acute Care Solutions (USACS), the nation’s leading clinician-centric emergency and inpatient medicine practice, announced today that it has named Dr. Bahrenegash Getachew, MD, CXPX, National Director of Clinician and Patient Experience. Dr. Getachew is the first to fill this new role as the practice continues to develop and enhance resources that support both clinician and patient experience.
Dr. Getachew most recently served as Medical Director at two Inova Health System freestanding emergency departments, Inova Emergency Room Fairfax City in Fairfax, VA, and Inova Emergency Room Reston/Herndon in Reston, VA. Demonstrating his commitment to clinician and patient experience, Dr. Getachew currently serves as Director of Patient Experience for the Emergency Department at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. In this role, he leads patient experience initiatives through clinician-level data analysis, workflow redesign, and targeted improvement strategies. Since assuming this role, Inova Health System has been notably recognized as a Press Ganey Health System of the Year.
In 2026, Dr. Getachew was selected to participate as a member of The Beryl Institute's National Physician Council, collaborating with national physician leaders to advance patient and clinician experience. Through this membership, he has completed The Beryl Institute Body of Knowledge (BOK) Program, earning certificates in patient experience leadership and patient advocacy, and was a featured contributor to Beyond the Clock: Improving the Human Experience of Waiting in Healthcare, providing national thought leadership on emergency department boarding, admission avoidance, patient flow, and the human experience of waiting.
“It is an honor to serve our practice, my colleagues, our patients, and our health system partners in this new role,” said Dr. Getachew. “I am passionate about helping clinicians and healthcare teams reconnect with their true purpose and reignite their ‘why’ — what brought them to a career in healthcare in the first place: caring for patients. Patient experience is bidirectional, meaning it’s also about clinician experience. When we demonstrate empathy, compassion, and effective communication at the bedside, we can improve clinician well-being, reduce burnout and, in turn, enhance the patient experience. I’m looking forward to making an impact and helping advance the clinician and patient experience on a national scale.”
In this role, Dr. Getachew will lead our national CPEX strategy and work to strengthen clinician engagement, advance evidence-informed practices, and partner with clinical leaders to support improved experience outcomes.
“We are thrilled that Dr. Getachew is joining our national leadership team,” said Tina Latimer, MD, MBA, MPH, FACEP, Chief Clinical Officer and President. “Dr. Getachew is passionate about advancing clinician and patient experience and you can see that through the practical resources he helps develop for Physicians and APPs. Additionally, he brings a unique combination of frontline clinical experience, operational leadership, patient experience expertise, and a strong understanding of the opportunities across our practice. I am eager to see the impact he has in this new role.”
