• Freestanding ER in rapidly growing Aurora, Colorado
• Southlands ER is an extension of AdventHealth Parker Hospital, 6 miles away
• 9 beds with 6 treatment chairs for a total of 15 patient treatment spaces
• Lean design concept which maximizes efficiency and time spent with patients
• Imaging services provided by Health Images
• Helipad
• Portable C-arm, Sonosite ultrasound, telestroke camera to connect with a neurologist
• Fully equipped resuscitation room, decontamination shower, isolation room
• 764 annual inpatient admissions were transferred out, 2.88% (454) of them to AdventHealth Parker Hospital, transfer to other facilities 2.37% (310)
• Admission rate: 3%
• Pediatric Volume: 15-20%
• 420 ambulances annually
• Stat lab on-site, with courier service to AdventHealth Parker Hospital if needed
• Close referral and consultative relationship with AdventHealth Parker Hospital, psych evals on-site
• ED Point of care testing
• RN and paramedic staff with specialty certifications
• Nitrous oxide administration capability for minimal sedation/anxiolysis
