Career Details
An EM Assistant Director will have the opportunity to work alongside a supportive team to deliver excellence in patient care. Assistant directors are expected to support the EM director in overseeing the operations of the Emergency Department in collaboration with the nursing staff and hospital leadership.
- Supports the EM Director in overseeing the operations of the ED in collaboration with nursing leadership and hospital administration
- Helps with the supervision of the emergency medical staff, per the bylaws, policies, and procedures of the institution
- Represents the ED in the community and within the hospital medical staff
Compensation
Excellent compensation package with both W-2 and 1099 options available. Base pay range of $165/hour to $270/hour. PLUS, industry-leading benefits including: $75,000 of Equity Ownership given to all full-time Physicians after 2 years of employment, up to $35,000/year from our 10% company-funded 401(k), $4,000/year of tax-free BEA/CME ($6,500 plus State and DEA license fees in year one for new graduates), 100% Paid Parental leave, 100% Paid Military leave, Comprehensive Medical/Dental/Vision/Rx coverage, Short- and Long-term disability (own occupation) and Medical Malpractice with tail and free litigation support. Additional leadership stipend of $208,100/year.

Details
Emergency Department Medical Director position open at California Hospital. This is a busy level 2 trauma center right in Downtown LA, blocks from where the Lakers play. We moved into a beautiful new 47 bed Emergency Department in January 2025 that has all private rooms and well equipped trauma bays. The volume of penetrating trauma is one of the highest in LA (about 25% of the total trauma volume). Subspeciality back up is very robust. The hospital is also a STEMI receiving center and a Primary Stroke Center. There are two Associate Directors to support the Medical Director, as well as an EMS, Quality, and Ultrasound Director.
