CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital is the anchor facility for CHI St. Joseph Health System. The Emergency and Trauma Center opened in 2016 and offers the community's only Level III Trauma Center for a nine-county area, along with an extensive inpatient and outpatient surgery program. It is known throughout the region for its cardiac, cancer and rehabilitation programs. Most of the St. Joseph ED staff have clinical faculty appointments available through the Texas A&M Health Science Center, allowing Physicians the opportunity to teach students and residents. There are approximately 70,000 students at Texas A&M.

- ED Beds: 26, plus 4 vertical fast-track rooms
- Admission Rate: 25%
- Trauma Designation: Busy Level III with Level II resources
- Certified Chest Pain Center and Primary Stroke Center
- Coverage: 8- and 9-hour shifts with 41 hours of Physician coverage and 36 hours of APP coverage per day
- Qualifications: BC/BP in Emergency Medicine
- EMR: Dragon with Pulse Check
- Scribes are available
- Primary stroke center with mechanical thrombectomy capabilities
