US Acute Care Solutions Celebrates Milestone Ten-Year Anniversary
Press Release

CANTON, Ohio, May 15, 2025 – US Acute Care Solutions (USACS), the nation’s largest Physician-owned emergency and inpatient medicine practice, celebrates its 10th anniversary today. This milestone marks a significant achievement in our practice’s history, highlighting the dedication of both the founding partners and legacy groups who have joined forces to advance their specialties and become national leaders in acute care.
Over the last decade, we at USACS have remained committed to our Physician-ownership model. Even amidst a challenging healthcare landscape and industry pressure to follow the status quo of scaling to sell, we have persisted in carving our own path. The practice’s successful, scalable growth is a direct result of choosing this uncharted route. Steadfast in our mission—to care for patients—we embrace a sustainable approach to ensure long-term Physician ownership and Clinician-led management for the benefit of patients.
The practice now has greater than 6,000 Clinicians who serve more than 11 million patients annually in 27 states at 400+ programs.
“Reaching this milestone is absolutely incredible, and I could not be more proud of how far we’ve come,” reflected Dominic Bagnoli, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, Executive Chair of the USACS Board of Directors. “Ten years ago, we faced a crossroads with two options – sell the practice or go it alone – neither of which aligned with our values or goals. Rather than compromise, we took a leap of faith and created an unprecedented third option, one that preserved our independence and values yet allowed us to gain the strength that comes with scale. The solid foundation we built, grounded in Physician ownership and patient-centric care, has enabled us to achieve long-term, sustainable success. I can’t wait to see what the next ten years have in store.”
“It is a true privilege to lead this group of talented Physicians, advanced practice providers, and MSO employees,” said CEO Chris Hummer. “We operate as one unified team with a shared goal of delivering exceptional care to our patients, an ambition that drives us to continually improve and pursue innovative solutions. I am humbled by the impact this practice has made since its inception and look forward to continuing on this path of meaningful work alongside my colleagues.”

US Acute Care Solutions Launches JACI: An Online, Peer-Reviewed Journal
CANTON, Ohio, October 23, 2025 – US Acute Care Solutions (USACS), the nation’s largest physician-owned emergency and inpatient medicine practice, is proud to announce the launch of the Journal of Acute Care Implementation (JACI), an online, peer-reviewed journal with the mission of improving patient care through implementation science.Featuring content focused on clinical solutions in acute care specialties, including emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, hospital medicine, observation medicine, and critical care, JACI serves as a reliable and easily accessible resource for clinicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals. The research articles and studies accepted into the database present practical, solution-based approaches that have been successfully implemented in clinical practice.“In creating JACI, our goal was to find an effective way to disseminate research that develops and tests solutions rather than merely identifying problems,” said Chief Medical Officer Amer Aldeen, MD, FACEP. “We look forward to receiving and publishing research that helps practicing acute care clinicians improve care at the bedside.”Those interested in submitting their research for publication consideration can follow the guidelines outlined on the JACI website. The JACI Editorial Board, which is composed of USACS physician leaders, will review submissions, and any approved research will be available at no cost to the author or reader. JACI is an ideal destination for papers submitted by residents, fellows, and early to mid-career attending physicians who are testing practical clinical solutions. At the present time, JACI is not citable in PubMed, but this may occur in the future as the journal starts to gain traction.Chief Clinical Officer Tina Latimer, MD, MBA, MPH, said, “As a practice, we are deeply committed to clinical research and the advancement of science in our acute care specialties. JACI is a direct reflection of that commitment.”“We know that when we invest our time, resources, and expertise in practical research, it impacts the care of all patients, not just those we directly care for,” said Roya Caloia, DO, MPH, FACEP, FAAEM, Chair of the USACS National Clinical Governance Board. “I am eager to see JACI gain momentum and become a known resource amongst our peers for clinical improvements across the board.”About USACSFounded by emergency medicine and inpatient physicians across the country, USACS is solely owned by its physicians and hospital system partners.
