Jeffery Leinen, MD, FACEP
Dr. Jeffery J. Leinen is the interim medical director at Tri-State Memorial Hospital. He chairs the Department of Emergency Medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and continues to work as an emergency physician at both sites. Dr. Leinen has served as medical director, regional director and CMO for other hospitals in California, Illinois and Texas. He is a diplomat of The American Board of Emergency Physicians and a Fellow in American College of Emergency Physicians.
Dr. Leinen has served as a board member for Cal-ACEP and as an oral board examiner for ABEM. He has held clinical faculty positions in emergency medicine at the University of Texas San Antonio and Stanford hospitals. Hospitals where he has been the emergency medicine medical director have awarded him multiple honors including Solucient 100 Top Hospitals (South Austin Medical Center); Travis County EMS "Best Emergency Department" (South Austin Medical Center); Healthgrades Best Emergency Care (Sutter Delta Medical Center); and Distinguished Service Award from the County of Santa Clara for the Gilroy Garlic Festival MCE.
Dr. Leinen earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of Houston and his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch. He completed an internship in internal medicine through the Kaiser Foundation Hospital, was a flight physician through the University of Chicago Aero Medical Network. He completed his residency in emergency medicine through the University of Chicago.
