Scott Felten Named Interim Program Director for Summa Health Akron Emergency Medicine Residency Program

CANTON, Ohio, January 6, 2017 – US Acute Care Solutions (USACS) today confirmed Summa Health System of Akron, Ohio, named Scott Felten MD, FACEP, interim program director for its emergency medicine residency program.

Most recently, Dr. Felten served as residency director for USACS. In this role, he worked with the residents and residency programs at all nine USACS graduate medical education facilities. Dr. Felten joined USACS in 2008 and worked clinically at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and in the Mercy Health System in Cincinnati. Previously, Dr. Felten served as an assistant professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa. Before that, he was a member of the Emergency Department staff at Akron General Medical Center and later served as the medical clerkship director, associate program director, and medical director of the Akron General Medical Center Emergency Department in Stow, Ohio.

Dr. Felten graduated from the University of Nebraska with a B.S. in biology in 1993. He completed medical school training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1997. He served as the chief resident of Emergency Medicine at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio and completed the program in 2000.

Dr. Felten said, “I am very excited to return to Akron and continue the outstanding education these residents are experiencing. USACS Announces Annual Clinical Excellence Award Winners

US Acute Care Solutions Names Michael DeMinico as General Counsel

Mr. DeMinico brings a wealth of strategic legal experience to healthcare organizations. Most recently, Mr. DeMinico served as General Counsel for Great Expressions Dental Centers, a multi-specialty dental service organization with more than 300 clinic locations. Prior to that, he served as General Counsel at EnvisionRx, one of the nation’s largest pharmacy benefits and services companies. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. DeMinico began his career in his hometown at the office of BakerHostetler where he was a partner in the firm’s Business Group, concentrating his practice on healthcare transactions, mergers and acquisitions, financing, and corporate governance matters.
