Ken Rooks, MD
Dr. Rooks joined USACS West in 2004 and is the Medical Director at SCL Good Samaritan Medical Center. He served as Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine from 2010-2012 and was the 2014 Good Samaritan Physician of the Year. Recently, he was named a 2016 Top Doc by 5280 Magazine. Prior to joining USACS, he practiced emergency medicine at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Georgia.
Dr. Rooks completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where he served as Chief Resident in 2000-2001. He received his M.D. from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and graduated with distinction from the University of Colorado – Boulder with a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. Prior to attending college, he was a medic in the U.S. Army.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. Both he and his wife have a passion for education and athletics and are founders of a science and math focused public charter school, Prospect Ridge Academy, in Broomfield. He plays as much basketball and golf as his schedule will allow.
