Daniel Fitzgerald, MD, is the Interim Director of Generative AI Implementation and Workflow Engineering. He is a hospitalist physician at Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital in Los Angeles, CA, where he serves on the AI Governance Council. He first worked as a hospitalist with US Acute Care Solutions in 2017 through 2019. Having rejoined USACS in 2023, he has since furthered his clinical training through the practice’s Clinical Innovation Fellowship.
Dr. Fitzgerald is an active member of the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM), the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). He previously worked as a hospitalist in the Chicago metropolitan area, during which he successfully designed a pre-rounding virtual scribe and improved EMR integration.
A graduate of VCU School of Medicine, Dr. Fitzgerald’s postgraduate training began with emergency medicine before transitioning to family medicine. He went on to complete his family medicine residency at Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in Chicago, IL. He additionally holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Master of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from Loyola University, as well as a Master of Science in Physiology – Integrative Medicine from Georgetown University.
