Overview
The Chair of Emergency Medicine is the executive physician responsible for quality and operational effectiveness of all Summa Health System emergency departments and is responsible for setting the strategic direction of all emergency services and academic programs. This position will work closely with the Summa Health Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and Designated Institutional Official to ensure compliance with elements of emergency services, metrics that contribute to the overall clinical quality scorecard, and promote faculty and resident development.
The Chair of Emergency Medicine at Summa Health will be a physician owner at US Acute Care Solutions, a national, physician-owned practice. USACS partners closely with Summa Health to provide physician and faculty services for all four Summa Health EDs, with 133,000 annual ED visits (including 64,000 at the academic, level 1 trauma site). Responsibilities
The Chair, Emergency Medicine is the executive physician responsible for representing Emergency Services and supporting the Medical Staff at the Summa Health System. This position will lead the Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director and faculty in achieving compliance with all ACGME program requirements. Minimum Qualifications:
- Hold (or be able to obtain) unrestricted medical license in State of Ohio
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine
- 7-10 years of experience as an ED physician leader and manager
- Leadership experience in academic emergency medicine
