Robert Coward
Interim Chief Executive Officer
Robert Coward serves as Interim Chief Executive Officer of US Acute Care Solutions. He has been a member of the USACS Board of Directors since 2019, bringing decades of experience in leading physician services organizations through growth, integration and performance improvement.
Prior to stepping into the role of Interim CEO, Robert served as Vice Chairman and former Chief Executive Officer of US Anesthesia Partners (USAP), where he led the organization through a period of strategic transformation from 2021 to 2023. He is also a current board member of Gastro Health and was previously an Operating Partner at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe.
Robert has previously held several senior executive roles in physician services, including President and Chief Development Officer of AmSurg/Sheridan and President and Chief Operating Officer of Sheridan Healthcare, where he served for more than two decades before its merger with AmSurg. Robert began his career as a Certified Public Accountant in the audit department at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Robert is known for his commitment to clinical quality, operational excellence and empowering physician-led care delivery across complex healthcare systems.
