Dr Ritter has done over 100 major presentations on many topics. His area of interest includes medical / legal issues, regulatory issues, toxicology, history of resuscitation, cardiac arrhythmia management, medical staff credentialing, and procedural sedation.
He has held a number of administrative positions at Mission Hospital and CHOC Children's Hospital at Mission, including medical director of the emergency department, chairman of the credentials committee, chairman of the pharmacy and therapeutics committee, chairman of the allied health professionals credentialing committee, chief of staff, chairman of the Orange County EMS executive committee.
Doctor Ritter is an associate professor of emergency medicine at the University of California Irvine. He does teaching, including cardiac arrhythmia management for the second-year medical student pharmacology course, as well as lectures for the emergency medicine residency at the University of California Irvine.
Dr. Ritter has won numerous awards for teaching and leadership, including the Codman safety award from the Joint Commission, and was selected as physician of the year in 2012 by the Orange County Medical Association (10,000 members).
