Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Scholars
The mission of our USACS APP Scholars program is to prepare qualified physician assistants (PAs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) for the role of site Lead APP. This platform is an extraordinary opportunity for personal and professional development.
Schedule & Commitment
The APP Scholars program has a specific set schedule and typically begins early in the calendar year with an in-person meeting during Assembly. Subsequent 2.5-hour live virtual sessions are held once a month via Zoom.

The APP Scholars curricula has evolved over time to meet the ever-changing needs of the industry, our practice, and our physician leaders. Below is a sampling of program components:

- Scholars Project
- Design and execute a site-specific performance improvement project using PDCA and CPI methodology in partnership with an associate from the USACS Clinical Resource Group
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Eligibility
- Candidates must be a full time USACS APP in any clinical specialty and interested in becoming a future site Lead APP.
- Note: Physicians have a separate and distinct Physician Scholars program.
- Preference will be given to APPs with high interest, potential for success, and willingness to relocate for Lead APP roles.
- Candidates must be willing and able to commit to meeting in-person at USACS Assembly.
- Candidates must be willing and able to meet the time and meeting expectations.
